NEW! Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray…out tommorow!

24 Jun

Just when our high-tech makeup setting  sprays were getting a little lonely on the shelf, our product development team  had the brilliant idea to create an antioxidant-rich prep spray. In an exclusive  partnership with Skindinavia, UD launches B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep  Spray. This scientifically advanced formula contains the first stabilized form  of vitamin B6, which absorbs oil, minimizes pores and reduces redness. Spritz it  on any time of day to hydrate, prep and soften your skin with vitamins and  antioxidants. Use it in the morning to prep and wake up your skin, during the  day to refresh your skin (without messing up your makeup), or at night before  your treatment. Versatile enough for people of all ages and skin types, men  included, this energizing formula is great for your skin and it feels amazing.  The more you use it, the better the results.”-UD

Super exciting! I will be purchasing and reviewing…. 🙂

If you don’t already know, I am a huge fan of Urban Decay cosmetics and this includes their New Makeup Setting Sprays- a must have for the Summer!  The sprays come in regular and travel sizes, great for throwing in your makeup bag or purse.  There are three different types: De-Slick, which helps control oil and do away with surface shine…All-nighter, which makes skin look ultra smooth and has a super high-tech formula that literally cools down the temperature of your makeup and helps it last up to 16 hours! (good for all complexions)…and Chill, which has a time- release cooling technology that is good for drier to combination skin and helps make up stay in place for 12 hours!  Totally amazing products that actually work! Thanks Urban Decay!

Summer Saviors: things around the house that will save you (and your pocket)

coco oliveoil rawhoney bakingso

There are a few key items that I like to keep around my house, and that I suggest you do as well.  These include: coconut oil, olive oil, baking soda, and honey (raw). There are so many uses for these items, and it helps to have them handy when treating certain ailments…rather than having to run to the store to buy special or expensive products for each situation.  Here’s some examples that could come in handy this Summer:

  • coconut oil has hundreds of uses… and can come in handy to soothe sunburn and also to as a moisturizer for dry skin. For more uses check out my post under PRODUCTS TO LOVE: Coconut Oil
  • baking soda, when mixed into a paste with a mashed up banana (and scrapings of the peel), and about a fourth of a cup of whole grain oats, makes an awesome remedy for super itchy bug bites! Leave it on for 8-10 minutes and rinse off. Major relief and no worries of any harmful chemicals on the skin!
  • raw honey prevents infections around wounds, and can be used as a sunburn treatment when mixed with a mashed up cucumber and a few teaspoons of aloe…just use enough honey to keep the mixture from running off the skin.
  • olive oil also has many uses, and is great for its moisturizing properties.  It works amazingly as a hot oil treatment for frizzy hair! Just heat the oil to slightly warm in a heat safe container and dip your hair in it, then wrap up in a shower cap and warm towel and let sit for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse with warm water and shampoo (probably twice to make sure you get all out).  And viola! Super soft and silky tresses!

Just some uses that are inexpensive and can help get you through the Summer!  I’d love to hear about how you use them…

Dreaming of Summer! Is it here yet?

Playing around with ombré nail designs..I figured maybe a Summer sunset? Unfortunately my black nail polish was a little gooey and kinda messed up the design…but you get the idea. Might be cool a second time around! The great part is I used scented nail polish so my nails smell of oranges and lemons..yummy!

Want to get rid of your dry Winter skin and beach body beautiful?  Here are two DIY scrubs that you can make at home and will leave your skin silky smooth!

For a yummy coconut-scented scrub:

you will need

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a jar/container to hold the mixture

To make this scrub, add the coconut oil to the brown sugar and mix it really well, adding the vanilla extract at the end and mixing a little more.

For a nice summer glow:

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup cane sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • a jar/container to hold the mixture

Just whip these ingredients together, put into a container, and you’ve got your scrub!

(TIP: keep scrubs in airtight containers and keep water out to preserve for a few weeks)
