Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray

th (7)

If you don’t already know, I am a huge fan of Urban Decay cosmetics and this includes their New Makeup Setting Sprays- a must have for the Summer!  The sprays come in regular and travel sizes, great for throwing in your makeup bag or purse.  There are three different types: De-Slick, which helps control oil and do away with surface shine…All-nighter, which makes skin look ultra smooth and has a super high-tech formula that literally cools down the temperature of your makeup and helps it last up to 16 hours! (good for all complexions)…and Chill, which has a time- release cooling technology that is good for drier to combination skin and helps make up stay in place for 12 hours!  Totally amazing products that actually work! Thanks Urban Decay!

A different design for each nail…

I love variety when it comes to nail art…especially because I get bored quickly and I am constantly changing my nail polish designs!  I love the idea of creating a different mini work of art on each individual nail, yet keeping a theme that ties them all together and keeps it cohesive.  It’s pretty simple to do…just pick a theme and go from there…make sure to use similar colors/add-ons on each nail ( you don’t want to mix a neon green with a matte oxblood color, ick!)

What do you think of this? Pink and Black are my favorite colors 😉

I saw this one and thought it was cool too:

Neon Nails!

4 May

Summer is soon to come and I have fallen in love with anything neon…the majority of the new clothing I’ve bought is neon, so I must match my mani with my new outfits!  Here’s some super bright neon manis that I thought were pretty nifty…

I especially thought that the black light sensitive polishes were pretty awesome…in fact I have a neon orange and neon pink black light sensitive polish that I sell myself! For those of you who don’t know, I create and sell handmade “3-FREE “nail lacquer.  Check it out if you would like…(etsy.com/shop/LaLaLacquers) (or on Facebook: facebook.com/LaLaLacquers) and use the code PRETTYPOLISHED for $2.00 OFF a reg priced bottle now until May 15.

Summer Saviors: things around the house that will save you (and your pocket)

coco oliveoil rawhoney bakingso

There are a few key items that I like to keep around my house, and that I suggest you do as well.  These include: coconut oil, olive oil, baking soda, and honey (raw). There are so many uses for these items, and it helps to have them handy when treating certain ailments…rather than having to run to the store to buy special or expensive products for each situation.  Here’s some examples that could come in handy this Summer:

  • coconut oil has hundreds of uses… and can come in handy to soothe sunburn and also to as a moisturizer for dry skin. For more uses check out my post under PRODUCTS TO LOVE: Coconut Oil
  • baking soda, when mixed into a paste with a mashed up banana (and scrapings of the peel), and about a fourth of a cup of whole grain oats, makes an awesome remedy for super itchy bug bites! Leave it on for 8-10 minutes and rinse off. Major relief and no worries of any harmful chemicals on the skin!
  • raw honey prevents infections around wounds, and can be used as a sunburn treatment when mixed with a mashed up cucumber and a few teaspoons of aloe…just use enough honey to keep the mixture from running off the skin.
  • olive oil also has many uses, and is great for its moisturizing properties.  It works amazingly as a hot oil treatment for frizzy hair! Just heat the oil to slightly warm in a heat safe container and dip your hair in it, then wrap up in a shower cap and warm towel and let sit for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse with warm water and shampoo (probably twice to make sure you get all out).  And viola! Super soft and silky tresses!

Just some uses that are inexpensive and can help get you through the Summer!  I’d love to hear about how you use them…

Dreaming of Summer! Is it here yet?

Playing around with ombré nail designs..I figured maybe a Summer sunset? Unfortunately my black nail polish was a little gooey and kinda messed up the design…but you get the idea. Might be cool a second time around! The great part is I used scented nail polish so my nails smell of oranges and lemons..yummy!

I love the color blue, especially Tiffany’s signature color! I used ChinaGlaze Aquadelic and then for the bling ring finger I used Essie No Place Like Chrome with Hard Candy Celebrate Sequins on top! The ring finger is super holographic and adds a nice bit of sparkle to shake things up!
