A long awaited return!

6 Jul

Hello lovelies!

It has been a looong time since I last wrote to you, in that time I have experienced the most beautiful moment of my entire life- the birth of my baby girl Mila Rose.  After devoting every second of the day to her, she has finally decided to give me a little time to write (when she naps) 🙂 . Though I should be napping too, I can’t help but to blog, I miss it too much! So, thank you for your patience, and be prepared for some different kinds of posts in the future…

Love,

Pretty Polished Mama 😉

I left a few photos of my beauty for you all to see!

decided to go for an “under the sea” kind of color today… I used my own glitter top coat that I made called Rip Tide (found on my Etsy shop).

NEW! Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray…out tommorow!

24 Jun

Just when our high-tech makeup setting  sprays were getting a little lonely on the shelf, our product development team  had the brilliant idea to create an antioxidant-rich prep spray. In an exclusive  partnership with Skindinavia, UD launches B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep  Spray. This scientifically advanced formula contains the first stabilized form  of vitamin B6, which absorbs oil, minimizes pores and reduces redness. Spritz it  on any time of day to hydrate, prep and soften your skin with vitamins and  antioxidants. Use it in the morning to prep and wake up your skin, during the  day to refresh your skin (without messing up your makeup), or at night before  your treatment. Versatile enough for people of all ages and skin types, men  included, this energizing formula is great for your skin and it feels amazing.  The more you use it, the better the results.”-UD

Super exciting! I will be purchasing and reviewing…. 🙂

Studded Nails

29 May

Here’s a trend that I absolutely love and adds an extra oomph to any set of nails…Studs!

You can find them in beauty stores, nail salons, drug stores, on line, and many other places.  They are inexpensive and are easily applied with nail art glue.

These studded nails caught my eye:

What do you think? Would you try these out?

From trash to treasure: My soon to be born baby Mila’s dresser

One man’s trash is totally my treasure!  I took this really old ugly dresser I bought for $20….

Sanded and painted it white, and added hardware for under $20….And it turned into a cute dresser for my baby girl to be!

So I want to thank everyone who supports my blog by reading, following, and commenting..and also apologize that I am not blogging as often. Much of this is also due to the fact that I am 16 weeks pregnant and just found out that we are having a GIRL! So amongst all my appointments, preparations, and starting a new business selling handmade nail polish, I’ve been pretty busy. But I would like to promise to you all that I will try my very best to keep you reading some very worthy posts as often as possible! Thanks Guys!

Alba Botanica

My must have:  Alba Botanica Refining Green Tea and Aloe Oil-Free Facial Moisturizer

alba moisturizerI must admit: I LOVE Alba Botanica products!  That said, you will probably be seeing plenty of their products here in the future.  Their stuff is so awesome because it’s hypo-allergenic, organic/vegetarian, and made with some of the most amazing smelling ingredients I have ever encountered.  I have been using this moisturizer, well, forever.  It’s light enough to wear well under makeup, and is infused with aloe, green tea, and gotu kola that leaves your face fresh and totally hydrated.  It also gives you lots of those well needed antioxidant benefits we crave.  I use this before applying my makeup and after cleansing my face with Alba Botanica Pineapple Enzyme facial scrub (yummy scent of course!  Although I don’t recommend tasting it…) and with Alba Botanica Hibiscus facial toner (another “I can’t live without”).
